Ciou was born in Toulouse, France, in 1981. She now lives and works near the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by forest, after spending several years in Brussels and Paris. Over the years, Ciou has established herself as a distinctive voice in the world of Contemporary Pop Art and Pop Surrealism.

Her international breakthrough came in 2004, with the group exhibition “Cute and Scary” at Flux Factory Gallery in New York. Since then, her work has been shown in galleries and museums across Japan, the United States, Europe, and Australia.

In 2017, Ciou held her first solo exhibition in Japan at Vanilla Gallery in Tokyo. In 2021, the Musée de La Poste in Paris commissioned her to create a monumental painting titled “This Letter Belongs to You,” which has since joined the museum’s French National Collection. The museum also invited her to design a 12 stamp booklet, “Féérie Astrologique,” for the French National Post.

Since 2019, Ciou and artist Malojo have been collaborating on the upcoming Paola Hivelin Foundation in Ibiza, Spain. Together, they have created two large- scale murals and are currently working on their exhibition space, « La chambre Galactique » ( The galactic Room ) , which will feature their artworks from the Hivelin Family Collection

Today, Ciou continues to develop new projects in the USA, Europe, and Japan, expanding her universe across cultures and mediums.

Her art explores themes such as nature, femininity, metamorphosis, paganism, and magic. Her distinctive style emerges from a unique fusion of European, American, Mexican, and Asian influences. She works with a variety of materials , including acrylics, water color, and ink on paper and wood.

Known for her meticulous attention to detail, Ciou draws with a Rotring pen (0.1 mm), often using a magnifying glass to perfect her intricate, dreamlike worlds. In her universe, every detail counts, and every line tells a story.
